Mae Tuck goes into town to meet her sons in the first chapter. This event begins to build suspence as to why a family would meet every 10 years. It draws attention to the family. Why not meet at holidays? This event shifts the attention from Winnie to the Tucks.
Plot Point #2
As the book progresses, Winnie runs into Jesse while he's drinking from the Spring. It takes him everything to convince her not to drink the water. As Winnie leans in for a drink, Mae sees the scenario, and jumps in to make sure that Winnie doesn't drink the water by "kidnapping" her.
Plot Point #3
While at the Tucks' house, Winnie begins to talk to the Tucks about the odd man who asked about a family whose been there forever. This man was the Man in the Yellow Suit. After being informed of the man, the Tucks are very worried that someone will figure out their secret.
Plot Point #4
Later in the book, the Man in the Yellow Suit takes the Tucks' horse. He sneaks into the Tucks' stable
Plot point #5
After the Man in the Yellow Suit stole the horse, he went to the Fosters' house to inform them about Winnie and offer to find her.
plot point #6
Jesse asks Winnie to drink from the spring and live with him forever. This is the first time that he "claims" his love for Winnie.
plot point #7
The Man in the Yellow Suit asks the Fosters for land and attempts to bargain. He offers land for the retrival of Winnie.
Plot Point #8
The Man in the Yellow Suit comes to the Tucks' house to get Winnie back so that he can have land.
Plot point #9
Next, Mae kills the Man in the Yellow Suit because she knows that he will expose them to the public.
Plot point #10
Jesse gives a vial of the eternal water to Winnie to drink when she turns 17. They make a deal that if she decides to drink it, they will meet later in time at Treegap.

The Tucks leave Winnie to "float" to another town. They each kiss her goodbye.
